Welcome to Ruhiira Millennium Sacco
Ruhiira Millennium SACCO ltd Shortened as RMS evolved from a group of women organized under a local women’s association called Ruhiira Twimukye Women’s Association (RUTWA) that had membership of 120. The Millennium Villages Project mobilized and facilitated it to be registered as a Cooperative under the Cooperative Societies Act in May 2007 with a purpose of providing members with affordable financial services especially savings, Credit with affordable interest rate, Micro Insurance and Money transfers.
Legal status
The society was legally registered under the Cooperative Societies Act CAP 112 on 4th May 2007 with registration number 8297/RCS in the names of Ruhiira Millennium Savings and Credit Society Ltd and it is permanently registered.
Ownership
RMS is member owned, financed, controlled, used and benefits the members who fully own and operate it according to the working policy with an aim of improving their social economic growth. Entrance in the SACCO is Voluntary, it operates on principles of equality, equity and self-help. Shares are sold to members as individuals, registered groups, Community Based Organizations (CBOs) and institutions. It started with support from United Nations (UN) Millennium Villages Project
